Interessante Links: Google Backup und Sync mit neuer Funktion

Google Drive als Software ist bekanntlich in Google Backup und Sync aufgegangen. Einen etwas größeren Blick haben wir bereits zum Release veröffentlicht. Nun gibt es die neue Version 3.39, die derzeit verteilt wird. Mit an Bord die Unterstützung für Network Attached Storages. Nutzer können in Google Backup und Sync so Fotos vom Netzwerkspeicher mit Google Fotos oder Google Drive synchronisieren. Wichtig zu wissen: Es handelt sich derzeit nur um die Möglichkeit, Fotos oder Videos von Netzlaufwerken zu sichern. Diese müssen auf dem Rechner eingebunden sein und können dann unter „Mein Computer“ als Ordner hinzugefügt werden. Die Laufwerke werden dann periodisch synchronisiert, solange das Laufwerk eingebunden ist.

You can now sync photos and videos to Google Photos and Google Drive from network-attached storage (NAS) devices. To start syncing, mount the network device to your Mac or PC. In the “My Computer” section of the Backup and Sync Preferences, click Choose Folder. Select the mounted folder or subfolder, and click Open. Click OK. Network folders sync periodically only while mounted on your computer.
You can now exclude Apple Photos Library metadata from syncing. In the “My Computer” section of the Backup and Sync Preferences, click Change. Select Back up photos and videos, and uncheck Back up Apple Photos Library metadata. When unchecked, only photo files from your library are backed up. When checked, your entire Apple Photos Library is synced to Google Drive.
